Not much. Always something. Mostly good.

Christmas Trip - Day 11

Here's my first late entry. There was no good excuse for not writing last night, but my poor excuse is that I was pretty tired and needed a complete break. So, instead, I watched Wishmaster 3 and 4 on the motel TV. Was that really a break? Not sure if my nightmares warranted the indulgence.

I'll write again later tonight to reflect today, rather than yesterday. Day 11 was spent on the road to Charleston.

The funniest thing I saw was a gas station that had a tiny chapel near by. While almost certainly unrelated to the gas station, I couldn't help but think that this was an example of truly full service, including church.

I expected a sign like, "Oil change, air filter and baptism, 26.99"

Christmas Trip - Day 10

Another active day, first an hour of tennis, then an hour of fencing. Played Yahtzee, which I haven't done in a long time (won two games, too!). A nice, relaxing day.

Tomorrow begins the first half of my trip toward home. First, stop outside of Charleston, then the next day on to Louisville where I'm having dinner with a friend. That night, driving back to Cincinnati just in time for the Sat-Sun weekend.

Christmas Trip - Day 9

Played tennis today with my friend Griffin. Despite all my practice this summer, he won two of our three sets, and he hasn't played for a long time. I was pleased with my serve when it went in! Regardless of losing, it was great to hit the ball around.

Later, we all played a game called Quiddler , a card game similar to Scrabble in which you score points for creating words from the given letters. Very fun.

To cap off evening, we watched Galaxy Quest, a perennial favorite.
