I enjoyed Chinatown (1974), starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. I didn't expect a hard boiled detective film, and didn't expect to be convinced by Nicholson in that type of role. I also didn't expect a good mystery, with surprising plot developments.

Whew! It's been at least a week since I watched The Wild Bunch (1969). This is an excellent film about horrible people and their horrible deeds.
Director Sam Peckinpah must have been ruthless, getting this film made. I'm not surprised this was a shocker in 1969. The violence
